DAY 7 – May 20th 2022 Coinjock, North Carolina

Another day catching up with work. We had some documents to sign, and I have an ongoing HST Review that needed me to submit documents online. The morning was spent working with clients, submitting files and reviewing commitments. It was a day to cook as well for lunch and the next few days.

I also made campground reservations for the 3rd leg of our upcoming trip. Our 72 day 27 stops trip is broken down our 72-night trip into 6 legs with approximately 5 stops per leg. That is total of  13,215 kilometers.

I use the RV Life Trip Wizard software to plan our sites. It is a great tool and works well in the US though not so well in Canada. This is what it looks like so far.

RV LIFE Trip Wizard 3rd Leg

1st Leg – Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Savannah and Atlanta in Georgia

2nd Leg – Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky, Arkansas, Texarkana and Baton Rouge, Louisiana

3rd Leg – Houston, Dallas and Amarillo in Texas, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Flagstaff, Arizona.

This 3rd leg will involve visiting family in Houston, Dallas and Albuquerque.

Coinjock is a town of only 500 or so residents. The homes are cute and there are no fences between neighbors. Those on the ocean front have little wooden poles on the shore for bald eagles to nest.

Our second meal out so far was at the Coinjock Marina Restaurant. It was a BUSY little place. We had a very pleasant 40-minute wait. We ordered craft beer from the bar and sat at an outdoor bar watching the sun set. We also saw some amazing Yachts coming in to dock for dinner and overnight.

The dinner at the Coinjock Marina Restaurant was amazing! We both ordered the same main course Spinach Ravioli with basil pesto cream sauce. Hussein added Blackened Shrimps on his ravioli. Being a vegetarian, I had a wedge salad for an appetizer. Hussein had a Coinjock Special Clam Chowder which was surprisingly nice considering the base was broth and not creamy.

There are 2 things people change on their RV when they get it. The first is the mattress. You get the shittiest mattress with the RV! Within a few weeks our mattress sank in the middle. Grand Design was amazing that they right away sent us the same mattress!! It took us 2 trips on our RV to figure it out! Just upgrade! We bought a custom organic bamboo short king mattress from Direct Beds in Stoney Creek! The next thing you must upgrade are the TVs. This was already disclosed to us upon purchase. This is no 4K smart TV. We have not yet done that as we are not big TV watchers.

It has been one week with no TV.

Instead I had finished reading Trevor Noah’s fantastic autobiography Born in Crime! It was more a tribute to his wonderful mother than an autobiography. I had picked up the book at Port Maitland neighborhood’s Little Free Library. At the same time I had also picked up Yann Martel’s High Hills of Portugal, having read his Life of Pi several times over. I tried very hard to get into it and just could not. Time to find another Little Free Library and exchange it for something else.

Today’s client is a potential Reverse Mortgage Client who contacted me through my website www.homeincomeplans.ca. She had printed every article and watched all my videos explaining how Reverse Mortgage in Canada protects seniors from ever losing their home. She was 76 but her daughter 56 was also on title. She had 2 private mortgages on her home, even though she had good pension income, she could not keep up with the monthly payments having taken full custody of her 9 year old great grandson. I advised her in order to qualify she would need to remove her daughter from title. She was going to do that and get back to me.

Is a Reverse Mortgage a good fit for you? Find out at www.homeincomeplans.ca or call me

Tomorrow we head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
