THE PHYSICAL HIGHLIGHTS OF Day 1 OF 10 Weeks of Travelling Across US on an RV
THE TITANIC
We arrived Somerset, Pennsylvania to Kooser State Park to find the kitchen island of our Grand Design Solitude 310GK Fifth Wheel in shambles. The center island had shifted off its base!
Our first day started with a trip to Lowe’s! Rick an ex-war veteran working at Lowe’s helped us get everything we needed. My husband, although not very handy with tools, has always been interested in wood working and fixing problems. He would watch, question and learn everything from the trades we had working through our real estate projects, our commercial/residential rental properties and our home. His good buddy Taras, a fellow crew member of the Etobicoke Yatch Club sail racing team, was always the “go to” for Hussein. He had him connected on Google Duo and Taras explained how to use a 3 tool compressor kit which included a brad nailer, a finish nailer and a pin nailer. We were grateful the island tipping over did not damage our plumbing, as it had others who had the same issue with the 310GK Solitude.
By the end of the day the island was back up and stronger than ever! We took the panel that did not drop and reinforced it as well.
I am always amazed at Hussein’s ability to navigate the beauty and the beast but even more so today when I saw how his intense curiosity about “how things work” paid off. He is a keeper!

THE HOOD
The hood doesn’t judge. If you want to be there, you can be there. The hood is a low stress, comfortable life. All your mental energy goes into getting by, so you don’t have to ask yourself any of the big questions. Who am I? Who am I supposed to be? Am I doing enough? In the hood you can be a forty-year-old man living in your mom’s house asking people for money and it’s not looked down on. You never feel like a failure in the hood, because someone is always worse off than you, and you don’t feel like you need to do more, because the biggest success isn’t that much higher than you, either. It allows you to exist in a state of suspended animation.
The hood has a wonderful sense of community to it as well. Everyone knows everyone, from the crackhead all the way through to the policeman. People take care of one another. The way it works in the hood is that if any mom asks you to to something, you have to say yes. “Can I send you? Is the phrase. It’s like everyone’s your mom , and you’re everyone’s kid.
“Can I send you?”
“Yeah, whaddya need?”
“I need you to go buy milk and bread.”
“Yeah, cool.”
Then she gives you some money and you go buy milk and bread. As long as you aren’t busy and it doesn’t cost you anything, you don’t say no.
Kind of like being in the campsite. Someone lent us their TV Cable since we couldn’t stream because of bad wifi connection. Memories are made, one campsite at a time.
Reading the Bhagavad Gita As it Is (Backwards)
ONE WHO SEES THE SUPERSOUL ACCOMPANYING THE INDIVIDUAL SOUL IN ALL BODIES AND WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT NEITHER THE SOUL NOR THE SUPERSOUL IS EVER DESTROYED, ACTUALLY SEES.
PURPORT
Anyone who can see three things – the body, the proprietor of the body or the individual soul, and the friend of the individual soul, combined together by good association- is actually in knowledge. Those who are not associated with the soul’s friend are ignorant; they simply see the body, and when the body is destroyed they think that everything is finished, but actually it is not so. After the destruction of the body both the soul and the Supersoul exist, and they go on eternally in many various moving and unmoving forms. The Sanskrit word parmesvaram is sometimes translated as the individual soul because the soul is the master of the body, and after the destruction of the body he transfers to another form. In that way he is master. But there are others who interpret this paramesvaram to be the Supersoul. In either case, both the Supersoul and the individual soul continue. They are not destroyed. One who can see in this way can actually see what is happening.
Working from the Trailer
As I am working on the road several deals are happening. We have a refinance closing on the 16th which is fully broker and solicitor satisfied. The same client is using the cash to purchase a rental income property closing on June 6th. He is purchasing it along with his wife who was not on title to the primary home because she had just discharged a consumer proposal. So pleased to say today we received the commitment, and my assistant Schann Sharma at Cirrius Finance ordered the appraisal.
