Day 30 June 12th New Orleans, Louisiana

Today we toured the famous Louisiana State University. It’s mascot is a live Bengal tiger named Mike who lives on campus. It is difficult to get a glimpse of him but we saw him stretched out taking a nap. We are warned not to turn our back to him. As that is when they stalk and in 2018 a video of him creeping up on students went viral.

The University is beautiful and it had nice grounds which we walked.

Here is a picture of Mike napping and his home. A lot of people wonder if a live Bengal Tiger is happy in captivity. Well, apparently they are loners and don’t mind being left alone. I am personally not a fan of an animal living outside of its natural habitat and I really don’t know how a university can afford this and how it came it be.

In the evening, we compared notes on our final choice for a bike rack and settled for a Thule XTR T2 Pro. We decided to check out the Bass Pro Shop in Denham Springs, New Orleans, and see if they had it.

This video explains the ways that the banks protect themselves from equity drying up, in case of values of the home goes down below the amount owed in the mortgage. This also protects the borrower as they keep more of the equity, as it belongs to the home owner… always.

We also plan to do a hike and do the Barton Arboretum and the Black Swamp Trail also a part of the huge Louisiana State University. I am excited as they have a very nice and rare Orchid collection and the whole Arboretum is run by the students.
